Powering Communities.
Transforming Energy.
No one should be cold in the winter. No one should be in the dark at night. No one should live without clean water.
The Community Energy Engagement Network (CEEN) is a growing movement of frontline organizations, advocates, and community members coming together to make utilities work for all people.
Our mission is to foster a just energy transition that prioritizes self-determination and addresses historical harm by bringing accessible, beneficial, and sustainable solutions to the challenges impacting the most vulnerable communities in the Midwest.
Our theory of change is to amplify the voices and experiences of those most impacted by failures in the energy system so they are heard and CEEN in places where decisions are made by fostering collaboration, providing education and resources, and promoting community perspectives in policy conversations.
How CEEN Supports You
-
Community-Led Network
Whether you are just starting or have been in the fight for years, CEEN brings community together to build connection, understanding, influence and capacity.
-
Access to Resources
CEEN aims to support effective advocacy by providing information and connecting community organizations with legal and technical services.
-
Industry Presence
Community perspectives are often missing from the rooms where energy policy is discussed. CEEN seeks opportunities to amplify community voices at industry events.
“No one has ever freed themselves from oppression by asking nicely.”
